Oatmeal is a good source of fiber. It contains no salt or cholesterol and is naturally low in fat and saturated fat. One serving of oatmeal contains only 2.5 g total fat.

McCann's Quick Cooking Irish Oatmeal

- Soluble fiber from oatmeal, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of oatmeal supplies 1 gram of the 3 grams of beta glucan soluble fiber necessary per day to have this effect.
For Each Serving:
Bring 1 cup water to a boil. Stir in 1/2 cup McCann's Irish Oatmeal. Cook 1 minute over medium heat or until thickened. Stir regularly. Cover and remove from heat. After a few minutes, stir and serve.
For Each Serving:
Add ½ cup of McCann's Irish Oatmeal to 1 cup water in deep microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir before serving.
Note: As microwaves are different, cooking times may vary.
For thicker oatmeal use less water.

I love this oatmeal! it has so much more flavor than the typical American oatmeal and it is much heartier. I don't get hungry an hour after I eat.

This is my go-to breakfast when I'm too lazy to make a green smoothie. 3 minutes is all you need, so it's perfect for when you're in a rush. If you're not much of a cook, but I strive for good nutrition, then give this a try!
